(More customer reviews)I used this battery for 4 months now. I have given up on the Nicad batteries about a year ago and switched to the Lithium batteries the depot sells for $90. I currently have one of these, one small Li, and three big Li batteries.

This battery has several advantages compared to the one the Depot sells for $90:

1 Price this one is about $20 cheaper (counting shipping cost)
2 More power.The most powerful genuine Ryobi battery is rated 2.4 Ah, this one is rated 3.0 Ah. Real world performance matches the claim.
3 No electronics. The silver battery is easily damaged by water i.e. rain. I lost one $90 battery to electronics damaged in rain.
4 Can be charged in the older black chargers and the new green chargers.
5 No cut off. It's annoying when I'm in the middle of a cut and the battery suddenly dies.
6 Looks cheap. I don't worry about it being pawned for drug money. But build quality is very good.

This battery has disadvantages:

1 Heavier. Not much, but makes a difference lifting power tools all day.
2 No gauge to show how much power left.
3 Takes longer to charge.

Next time I need a battery, I'm getting this one.
