About two years ago I bought a cordless Ryobi drill, with a 7.2 v-dc rechargeablebattery andcharger.Recently the charger quit working and I unsuccessfully searched for a replacement from the manufacturer. Besides, no hardware store or home center carried the item. Through Amazon I finally found a charger with the same specifications of the original one (described as "Charger- 120v-ac 7.2v-dc 2 RyobiRidgid 14029501").

When I tried to use it, the new charger's receptacle did not couple with the battery. The drill and the battery design had changed, still maintaining the same voltage specifications. However, Amazon also offered a plug in transformer: "Ryobi 7222701 Plug-in Class 2 Transformer" which had the samefunction of the original charger without requiring the coupling of the battery with the charger.

As a result, I am very satisfied with both, the product and the source. AMAZON,com demonstratedto understand and meet customer needs by offering alternative solutions to a problem vs. the changed conditions of the market.
