(More customer reviews)This saw cuts well. Blade is reasonably parallel to base, within .004" as measured with a dial indicator. The included blade is OK for rough framing, like that I did with it building custom privacy fence. The light and laser guide are kind of gimmicky, although they did help when the sun was going down or when in the shade. I use a zero-clearance cutting guide so the laser is superfluous for most applications.
The dust port is a real boon! When attached to a shop-vac, it really cuts down on dust and shortens clean-up time. No, it does not cut as well as a Festool... but it costs less than one-tenth the price.
I used the Freud Diablo, 40-tooth thin-kerf blade and a melamine-coated door-jamb for a straight-edge. I cut 2-by, and 4-by material as well as 3/4" plywood... got no tear-out and smooth edges with this set-up.
My saw came with a nifty double-zippered bag that is easy to pack up into a tool box and will provide adequate protection for my needs. Construction professionals will want a heavy-duty saw and demanding craftsmen will need higher precision. But for most weekend wood-warriors, this is just fine and the price is right. For the money, this is a great saw.
